Materials can be used in a Passive or Active manner, with one slot allocated for each. Every item listed here can go into either slot, with different effects depending on what they are. You can upgrade these Materials by finding additional copies of them, which makes their effects stronger and in some cases lets you use the Active version more often between checkpoints.
